desn101: project 4

The requirement of the project was to create a model that has the element of fluidity about it. I believe the model I created effectively conveys the desired result of a model that is fluid in form. To me, the definition of fluid is having no corners or sharp edges, smooth to the senses and beginning to be continuous. My idea of fluid is like a liquid having fewer particles than a solid and so the model would need to look like it has fewer particles than the solid it is created from, and this is evident in the finished model. The finished model has a delicate look because of the symmetrical shape and the material it is made from. The delicate look adds to the overall flow of the model and the property of the thin continuous wire allows for a fluid form.I drew inspiration from the work of Zakary Kinnaird and Eric Shepherd, using their shape and materials to create an entirely different model that has fluid form.

Three links to blogs:
These blogs I have chosen relate to each other because they all have a similar theme of street art and graffiti. All the sites have extensive archives and in particular I like the way the Iran Graffiti and Little People blogs are laid out. They are easy to read and also have lots of graphics which conveys their theme effectively.

From the creation of this blog I have been able to gain an online relationship with class mates and other design networks. Others have been able to comment on my work which allowed me to understand their reactions and what they thought of it. This network has enabled me to get inspiration from other blogs and classmates with similar interests as me. This online association with others has opened my eyes to different styles of work and what others are designing. Here are some links to the people I have dealt with through this network:
